Hanamkonda: All that the ruling TRS has to do is to fulfill its poll promises and nothing else, Communist Party of India (Marxist) district secretary Sarampally Vasudeva Reddy has said.

Addressing media persons here on Tuesday, he said: “TRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao used to say during the separate statehood movement that he will bring Telangana sans protests and agitations implying that his party would address all the issues faced by the people.

But no one thought that he would resort to suppressive measures to stifle the voice of the people and Opposition parties.”

Shifting of Dharna Chowk from Indira Park to the city outskirts is one such a move that he doesn’t like disgruntled voices, Reddy said, demanding the State government to withdraw its move.

KCR is trying to create terror among the Opposition ranks by using police force which he will never succeed, he said, accusing the government of adopting divisive tactics to shift the Dharna Chowk from Indira Park.

Even in national capital Delhi there is Jantar Mantar for the people to demonstrate their protest, but the TRS government is not willing to lend its ear to the voice of distressed sections, he said.

If the ruling party fulfills its election promises, why the Opposition parties take to streets, he questioned. Warangal Rural district secretary M Chukkaiah alleged that the government was using police force as its party workers.

Referring to the Monday’s incident at Indira Park, he said that police in the guise of locals staged carries a protest demanding relocation of Dharna Chowk.

Despite several incidents such as Mudigonda firing, the Left parties continued their tirade against government’s anti-people policies, he asserted.
