An undertrial prisoner, accused in several theft cases, escaped during transport from Hyderabad to Warangal near Yashwanthapur in Janagaon district on Wednesday. 

Warangal: An undertrial prisoner, accused in several theft cases, escaped during transport from Hyderabad to Warangal near Yashwanthapur in Janagaon district on Wednesday.

According to reports, the accused was identified as Attineni Chandramohan of Jagtial. The incident occurred when the police bringing him back to Warangal prison after producing him in Nampally court in connection with a case registered in Panjagutta police station.

The accused who got down the bus on the pretext of attending nature’s call escaped giving a slip to three escort police. It’s learnt that the police fired two rounds at the accused. Meanwhile, the police have intensified search operations to nab Chandramohan.

It may be noted here that at the same spot Uppala Suri, a life convict, also escaped while being brought to Warangal in a bus on May 18, 2016. He stopped the bus on the pretext of attending nature’s call and managed to escape.
