Speaking at the meeting, District Joint Collector Amay Kumar said that after conducting house survey, the names of deceased and migrated persons will be deleted and the names of persons, who completed 18 years and the migrants, who settled in the district permanently will be included as new voters.

People submitted several forms at different polling booths on May 7 and 14. After checking these forms, final list of voters will be prepared by May 31, the J-C said.

Electoral Registration Officer Shashank Goel directed the officials to enroll new voters in the list by conducting house- to-house survey without fail, especially concentrating on areas, where more number of SCs and STs live and to remove the names of persons, who were shifted to other areas and those who expired.

“Conduct awareness programmes among people on voter enrollment through posters, pamphlets and by other means along with keeping voter enrollment forms available at village panchayats, mandal and division offices. Establish a special cell with tollfree number at the Collectorate to clear the doubts and for enrolling new voters,” advised Shashank Goel.

Mulugu Sub-Collector Gautam Kumar, District Revenue Officer Mohan Lal, Rural Development Officer Veerbrahma Chary, Tahsildar Srinivas Rao and Additional Officer of Collectorate Chakradhar were present along with booth-level officers in the meeting.
