All eligible will get sheep: Mahabubabad Collector
Sheep will be distributed to all eligible beneficiaries belonging to shepherd community, District Collector Dr Preethi Meena assured the villagers at a Grama Sabha held at Anantharam village of Mahabubabad mandal on Thursday. During the Sabha, she had selected 55 beneficiaries through lottery system out of 110 applicants of shepherd community.
​Mahabubabad: Sheep will be distributed to all eligible beneficiaries belonging to shepherd community, District Collector Dr Preethi Meena assured the villagers at a Grama Sabha held at Anantharam village of Mahabubabad mandal on Thursday. During the Sabha, she had selected 55 beneficiaries through lottery system out of 110 applicants of shepherd community.
Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said the entire process of selection of beneficiaries would be conducted transparently without giving scope for irregularities and all eligible will get sheep. Sheep will be distributed to the remaining beneficiaries next year as part of rearing of sheep scheme, introduced by the State government for uplifting the shepherd community.
The members, who were selected through lottery system, must immediately credit 25 per cent of the amount in the accounts of shepherd societies and the government will pay the remaining 75 per cent as subsidy, she informed.
The Collector also selected about 27 beneficiaries in Gandhipuram village through lottery system out of the 55 applicants. The MPDO, Tahsildar, MPP and MPTCs were present along with others.
