Nalgonda: TRS MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy ridiculed the Congress leaders for extending support to their MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, who tried to create tension at Nalgonda market yard during a programme.

Speaking to media persons at Nalgonda on Thursday, Gutha charged the Congress with encouraging rowdyism by supporting Komatireddy to continue his mindless attacks on the TRS government. He also condemned the comments of Congress Legislature Party leader K Jana Reddy and Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee chief N Uttam Kumar Reddy on the market yard incident.

He said Jana Reddy and Uttam were making vague comments on the incident. “These two leaders seem to have forgotten the insult meted out to them by Komatireddy,” he said, adding that extending support to Komatireddy brothers would cost the Congress dearly.

Komatireddy brothers are planning to cross over to the BJP and the Congress top brass was trying to prevent them from doing so, Gutha claimed, calling upon the Congress activists not to fall a prey to the conspiracies of Komatireddy, who was trying to malign the image of the TRS government. Alleging that the attack was done at the behest of Congress, Gutha said the state government would not tolerate such moves by the Congress.

Meanwhile, Congress senior leader and former Nakrekal MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah condemned the TRS leaders attack on MLA Komatireddy Venkatreddy during the foundation stone ceremony of a market recently. Chirumarthi stated that Nalgonda has become a centre for TRS goons and opportunistic politicians.

Addressing media in Nalgonda on Thursday, the former MLA informed that Komatireddy attended the ceremony only on the invitation of Irrigation Minister Harish Rao and wanted to thank him for realising the dreams of farmers of the district.

However, local TRS leaders unhappy over the development instigated Congress leaders and hurled stones at the MLA and party workers. He further raised objection to police arresting Congress workers at the behest of ruling party leaders.

He demanded the arrest of TRS leaders and persons those initiated stone-pelting. Describing MP Gutha Sukender Reddy as an opportunistic politician, Chirumarthi dared him to resign and contest alone to know his individual strength.

Stating that Komatireddy was a leader of masses and has been striving for the development of constituency for the last 18 years, he informed that MLA has never encouraged rowdy politics for his personnel benefits.

He demanded immediate lift of cases on Congress party workers, otherwise warned of protest at people's court for justice Congress women wing president Dhana Laxmi, leaders Vanguri Laxmaiah and others participated in the press meet.
