Khammam: Lambasting the State and Central governments, CPI leader Puvvada Nageswara Rao stated that both did nothing great in their three years of ruling, except the demonetisation of high value currency notes.

The CPI leaders and cadre observed the 20th death anniversary of party senior leader and former national general secretary Giri Prasad, here in Khammam on Wednesday. The leaders paid rich tributes to Giri Prasad on the day.

Speaking on the occasion, Puvvada Nageshwar Rao said Giri Prasad worked hard for strengthening the party until his last breath and stood an inspiration for the present generation.

“Giri Prasad played a key role in Telangana Sayuda Poratam, leaving out his higher education for the sake of people, apart from taking part in Communist revolutionary movements to strengthen the party,” the CPI leader added.

“It is the responsibility of every communist to take his message of spreading the party deep into villages. There is no end to communist movements. Every communist must work for the welfare of the weaker sections,” he urged.

Slamming the governments, Rao said there was no major change that took place in the country in three years of Modi’s rule except for the demonetisation.

Both the State and Central governments has been deceiving people with their hollow promises and by giving fake publicity about the development. Soon, people will teach them a befitting lesson, he said.

CPI party state leader T V Chowdari, district secretary Bagam Hemanth Rao, Potu Prasad, Jammula Jitendhar Reddy, Shingu Narasimha Rao, Dandi Suresh, Mohammad Salaam, S K Jani Miya, Yerra Babu and Thati Venkateshwarlu took part in the programme.
