APGVB conducts Mega Sports Meet in Warangal
Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank has conducted a first ever ‘Mega Sports Meet’ for its employees. Cricket, shuttle-badminton, carroms and chess were the events included in the Sports Meet.

Hanamkonda: Andhra Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank has conducted a first ever ‘Mega Sports Meet’ for its employees. Cricket, shuttle-badminton, carroms and chess were the events included in the Sports Meet.
Youngsters constitute nearly 60 per cent of the workforce of the bank and with a view to encourage and motivate the staff, the sports meet has been organised, the Bank Chairman V Narasi Reddy said. Teams representing 12 regions of the bank, including head office have participated in all events on May 27 and 28 in Warangal.
T20 Cricket has been played in three centres, Warangal, Mahabubnagar and Visakhapatnam on May 13 and 14 and four teams namely Warangal, Nalgonda, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam have qualified for semi-final and finals which were held here.
In the semi-final, Warangal beat Nalgonda and Vizianagaram beat Visakhapatnam and reached finals. After winning the toss, Vizianagaram chose to bat and scored 110 in 20 overs. Warangal team has chased the target with a loss of just two wickets.
Warangal region has excelled in the sports meet by winning the title in majority of the events. In chess, M Nageswara Rao of Warangal region emerged winner while Kireety of Visakhapatnam was the runner up.
Carroms-women: winners N Anitha and G Swarna of Warangal and region runners up Sujatha M and Priyanka Kumari of Ashoknagar. Carroms-men: winners J Jacob and Ch Vinay Kumar of Warangal region and runners up Sudhakar K and P Pavan Kumar of Parvathipuram. Shuttle badminton-women: winners K Nagamani and Swathi Naidu of Bhadrachalam and runners up T Ashwini and B Manasa of Warangal.
Shuttle badminton-men: winners TSS Srinivas and J Narasimha Chary of Warangal and runners up P Harish Kumar and M Sashipal Reddy of Bhadrachalam. The prizes presentation ceremony has taken place in Hanamkonda on Sunday evening. As part of the sports meet, the bank employees have also conducted a walkathon in Warangal on Sunday with an objective to promote financial literacy.
