​Khammam: Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao ordered the officials of departments concerned to complete various developmental activities that have been taking place in the district within the prescribed time limit.

He along with District Collector D S Lokesh Kumar chaired a review meeting with the officials of various departments and peoples’ representatives to discuss on the progress of developmental works taking place in the district, here at Technical Training and Development Centre on Wednesday.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister questioned the officials about the delay in supplying water through SRSP. He ordered SRSP Chief Engineer to suspend the engineers responsible for the delay. He ordered the officials to speed up construction works of intra-village, OHSR tanks and laying of pipelines under Mission Bhagiratha project for which Rs 4,000 crores were invested along with the works of Kanigiri hills and Godavari Water Treatment Plant, to place the district on top position by completing Mission Bhagiratha works in time.

The Minister appreciated the officials for placing the district in top position by completing first and second phases of Mission Kakatiya works successfully and ordered them to complete the third phase of works also with the same inspiration.

Tummala expressed ire on the absence of Panchayat Raj and Roads & Building department officials and for not completing the construction works of as many as four bridges across the road out of the five that were sanctioned. He ordered the Collector to conduct a separate review meeting on this issue.

Complete the construction works of double bedroom houses as early as possible and keep ready for inauguration along with the construction of new Collectorate building by June 2, ordered the Minister.
When the government is determined and sanctioning funds for the developmental activities, why the officials are negligent in completing the works, he questioned.

The district is famous for uninterrupted power supply and the officials must take necessary steps for supplying of 24 hour uninterrupted power in next year along with preventing low voltage problems in the villages, the Minister suggested. Take necessary steps for the successful organisation of distribution of single women pension and KCR Kits in the district, advised the Minister.

MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, trainee Collector Hanumanthu Kodimba, District Revenue Officer J Shiva Srinivas, Chief Planning Officer Z Ramdas, DRDA Project Director Muralidhar Rao, RDO Purnachandram and DM &HO Kondal Rao were present along with others.
