​Sircilla: As per the Central government orders, measles and rubella vaccinations would be administered to 1.25 lakh children, between the age group of 9 to 15 years, in the district, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Ramesh informed.

District Collector D Krishna Bhaskar inaugurated an awareness programme to the health officials on administering measles and rubella vaccinations to children at the conference hall of DM &HO office here on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, DM &HO Dr Ramesh said that only measles vaccination was administered to the children earlier. But from this year onwards rubella vaccination also will be given to children to protect them fully and the future generations, he informed.

All necessary arrangements would be made for administering measles and rubella vaccination to the children present in all mandals across the district after drafting a perfect planning, the DM &HO said.

WHO, Karimnagar Medical Officer Dr Athul, District Immunisation Officer Dr Aruna, Dr Chandrashekar, Dr Suman Mohan Rao and health officials of all primary health centres in the district were present along with others in the awareness programme.
