Khammam: About 98 per cent of farmers were benefited through the ‘sada bainamas’ (on plain papers) across the State, said Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao here on Thursday. The Minister was distributing the ‘sada bainamas’ to the beneficiaries at Thirumalayapalem mandal in Khammam district on Thursday.

The Minister also laid foundation stone for the construction of a new panchayat office building at a cost of Rs13 lakh at Thirumalayapalem on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the R&B Minister said Chief Minister issued the orders to hand over the sada bainama papers to the farmers who were cultivating the fields in less than five acres of land irrespective of the landlords who owned that land.

About 55 lakhs of farmers were living in the State out of which as many as 50 lakhs of farmers were benefitted by getting pattas though sada bainamas papers, he said. No other State in the country issued pattas to farmers like that of Telangana State through sada bainamas, he informed.

The Minister also said the farmers who were cultivating the land for the past 60 years without any ownership of the fields were benefitted with the orders issued by the Chandrashekar Rao. “If any officials or staff members including tahsildars demand money for issuing pattas to the farmers, they will be suspended immediately,” warned the Minister.

Only during Nizam’s reign the survey on land was conducted due to which the farmers are facing problems now. A large number of complaints and suggestions received for corrections in survey will be sorted out as early as possible, assured the Minister.

By investing Rs.18 crore in various developmental activities, works have been going in Thirumalayapalem mandal. Further, in the coming days, some more developmental activities would be taken up in the mandal apart from supplying pure drinking water for 365 days and by Ugadi, 24 hours of uninterrupted power would be supplied for irrigation purpose, said the Minister.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, Chairman of IDC Budan Baig, Atma Chairman Maddi Malla Reddy, Rural Development Officer Purnachandra and officials of various department were present along with others.
