The district Congress leaders on Friday performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to the portraits of All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi across the district marking Telangana Formation Day.
Warangal: The district Congress leaders on Friday performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to the portraits of All India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi across the district marking Telangana Formation Day.
At Congress Bhavan, the party district president N Rajender Reddy, hoisted the national flag and later performed ‘Palabhishekam’ to Sonia Gandhi portrait.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the party chief, who fulfilled the 60 years’ dream of Telangana people to have a State of their own, should be respected by all.
He hit at the TRS government and the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for failing to deliver election promises even after three years passed since the formation of the separate State of Telangana. He called upon farmers, youth, students and intellectuals to fight against the misrule of the government.
In Another programme at Kothawada in Warangal the city, Congress working president Rajanala Srihari has performed ‘Palabhishekam’. He appealed the party workers to install statues of Sonia Gandhi at all village centres, mandal and district headquarters for delivering the promise of separate State.
