He paid rich tribute to Telangana Martyrs memorial and Prof Jaya Shankar statue and unfurled the national flag at Police Parade Grounds.

Speaking on the occasion, the Finance Minister said that with 17.8 per cent growth rate, the Telangana State is positioned on top position across the country and proved that the TRS government has good vision on the development, which is investing Rs 40,000 crores in the form of schemes for public welfare.

It is the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, who made the Karimnagar district as Rice Bowl of Telangana State. But some of the political parties using the name of Mahatma Gandhi and his vision of ‘Grama Swarajyam’, gained political mileage deceiving the people of Telangana, he lamented.

The TRS government is determined for the development of all sections of people and has taken up various projects not only for the present generation but also for the future generations of Telangana.

By the end of 2018, the prestigious Kaleshwaram project will be completed along with beautification of Karimnagar district to make it as a tourist hub, by investing Rs 1,000 crores, he assured.

The Minister distributed several units sanctioned from various departments to the beneficiaries worth Rs 21 crores along with tricycles to differently-abled persons.

The Minister handed over awards to the staff belonging to various fields, who discharged their duties perfectly and who provided better services in their respective fields.

Cultural activities performed by the students of various schools like Jawahar Bala Kendram, Sidharth High School, Blue Bells School and Alphores High School attracted many and received wide range of applauses from the people.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Tula Uma, District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed, Karimnagar Range DIG C Ravi Verma, Commissioner of Police Kamalasan Reddy, MLC Naradasu Lakshman Rao, MLAs Gangula Kamalakar and Bodiga Shoba and the City Mayor Ravinder singh were present along with others.
