Khammam: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka launched a scathing attack on TRS government for not fulfilling its poll promises even after three years. Addressing a press conference at Chintakani on Monday, Bhatti said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao hoodwinked people by making improbable promises.

“It’s been three years since TRS came to power, however, it is yet to fulfil its promises made during the 2014 elections. Be it KG to PG, double bedroom scheme or three-acre land to Dalits, the TRS government dumped all its promises,” Bhatti said.

There are at least 7 lakh landless poor in the State. For this, the government needs 21 lakh acres. Going by the estimates, the government requires about Rs 1.40 lakh crore for acquiring land at an average of Rs 7 lakh per acre.

This is equal to that of one year budget of the State, he said, stating that this was all but impossible for the Chief Minister to implement. Referring to KG to PG free education and double bedroom houses, Bhatti questioned the government how it would implement these schemes which require thousands of crores of rupees.

Referring to Indira Sagar and Rajiv Sagar projects, he accused the TRS government of neglecting the irrigation projects mooted by the Congress regime and wasting people’s money in the name of redesigning of projects.

“Congress is not against irrigation projects, it is only against increase of project estimates to benefit the contractors” Bhatti said. TRS government has pushed Telangana into financial crisis, he said, stating that Telangana was rich with a revenue surplus of Rs 7,500 crore at the time of State formation. People no longer believe the TRS rhetoric, Bhatti said, advising the ruling party to mend its ways.
