AITUC seeks action against municipal contractors
The representatives of Municipal Workers Association affiliated to All India Trade Union Council (AITUC) demanded the government to take initiation in releasing the ESI money from the contractors that was cut from their salaries illegally.
Khammam: The representatives of Municipal Workers Association affiliated to All India Trade Union Council (AITUC) demanded the government to take initiation in releasing the ESI money from the contractors that was cut from their salaries illegally.
Speaking at a meeting held with the Association members in Khammam on Tuesday, district secretary of the Association Manda Venkateshwarlu alleged that in the name of ESI, the contractors had deducted the money illegally from the salaries of municipal workers who were discharging duties on outsourcing basis.
Several times we have appealed to the officials seeking action against contractors concerned and sanction the money that was deducted. But, the municipal officials are behaving negligently, he alleged.
Stating that the government must hand over protection equipment to the municipal workers twice a year, he urged the representatives of the Association to fight united for solving their issues. He also sought the government to reinstate the workers who were sacked illegally. Association members and others attended the meeting.
