Asifabad: With an aim to provide assistance to district home guards, the District Superintendent of Police, Sunpreet Singh, launched a welfare programme, ‘Cheyutha’ at district police office here on Tuesday.

On the occasion, he handed over a cheque for Rs 70,400 to the wife of a home guard, who died recently and assured her to provide a job also.

Speaking on the occasion, the SP said this scheme will help to the home guards, who dies or injures during the task, and also those suffering from health problems.

Special emergency vehicle will be provided to them at the time of emergency. CI Venkateshwarlu, Asifabad town CI Satish, SIs Shivakumar, Shyam Sunder, home guards Anil Kumar, CC SP Srinivas and PRO Manohar were present on the occasion.
