VLEs must make every villager digitally literate: Joint Collector

Khammam: It is the responsibility of Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) to make every villager digitally literate by giving training through ‘Pradhan Mantri Gramin Digital Saksharta Abhiyan’ (PMGDISHA) programme, suggested District Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy here in Khammam on Thursday
He attended as a chief guest to the training programme organised to the representatives of ‘Mee-Seva centres’ and to VLEs Common Services Centers Scheme (CSC) here at Technical Training and Development Centre here in Khammam on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Joint Collector said that the Telangana government was implementing the ‘Digital India’ programme introduced by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi prestigiously in the State.
It was the responsibility of every VLE to encourage persons between the age group of 14 years to 60 to have minimum knowledge about technology and new developments that were taking place in present world, advised the Joint Collector.
Make the Khammam District idle in the State by training at least single person in a family living in rural areas about digital usage through PMGDISHA training program, suggested the Joint Collector.
Every VLE must give much preference to the new initiative ‘PMGDISHA’ introduced by the Central government along with giving training about computer and internet education to the unemployed youth present in the rural areas and help them grab employment opportunities, he advised.
The Joint Collector handed over the Biometric devices to the VLE’s who registered their names under PMGDISHA.
The e-District Manager of Khammam P Durga Prasad and the PMGDISHA District Coordinator P Suresh Kumar were present along with others.
