Hyderabad: Navin Mittal, Secretary, Municipal Administration and Urban Development took stock of the progress made on the Warangal Smart City Project at a review meeting with the officials and project management consultants here on Friday.

Going through the various immediate priority projects, Mittal said that the idea of smart city was to have a transformation in which there would be a visible improvement in the basic infrastructure facilities.

He asked the representatives of the Project Management Consultancy to complete the planning, designing and tendering process within two months so as to begin the infrastructure works.

He said that construction of roads, restoration and renovation of lakes, renovation of existing musical garden, construction of public plaza, setting up of sewage treatment plant, alignment of ropeway, construction of multilevel parking-cum-commercial complex, public garden, Prof. Jayashankar Park and renovation of public garden were some of the projects to be taken up under priority basis in area based development.

Warangal Urban Collector Amarapali and Commissioner GWMC Shruthi Ojha were present at the meeting.
