Khammam: CPM district secretary Ponnam Venkateshwarlu alleged that Municipal officials were behaving negligently in removing flexies put up by the ruling party and were violating the rules.

The CPM party leaders called on City Municipal Commissioner Srinivas Rao at his office and handed over a representation demanding immediate removal of flexies that were installed by the ruling TRS party, here in Khammam on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion, Ponnam alleged that the officials were behaving like agents of the ruling party and were cooperating them in all their actions by violating rules.

“During Mahajana Padayatra, the Municipal Commissioner himself took initiation and ordered the officials to remove flexies that were arranged by the CPM party. But, why he is not taking the same step in removing the flexies of ruling party?” he questioned.

“The government officials are meant to serve public but not the political leaders. They must serve the people irrespective of pressures exerted by any political party,” he advised, demanding the Municipal Commissioner to pull down the flexies as early as possible.

CPM party leaders Yerra Srikanth and Kalyanam Venkateshwar Rao were present along with others.
