​Khammam: With the intention of improving educational standards in government schools, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had taken the decision of opening of Gurukul schools across the state with all basic facilities for the all-round development of students, said Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao.

Addressing the crowd after inaugurating Minority residential school at Jalagamnagar in Khammam rural mandal on Tuesday, Tummala said to fulfil the poll promise of KG to PG free education, residential schools were established across the state for the sake of poor.

The Telangana government was determined to open as many as 720 residential schools across the state in coming three years, he said.

Meanwhile, around 240 students took admission in Jalagamnagar Minority residential school. At present, the school is being run in a rented building. But in coming up days, a permanent building would be constructed with all necessary infrastructure, he informed.

Stating that one residential school would be opened in every constituency of the state, he said education and facilities on par with corporate schools would be provided in those schools.

Chairman of the State Seed Development Organisation Kondabala Koteshwar Rao said education plays a key role in the society. The development of the state depends on the development of education sector.

Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepalli Kavitha, MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, Chairman of State Industries Development Organisation Budan Baig, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, Khammam Agriculture Market Committee Chairman R J C Krishna, District Joint Collector T Vinay Krishna Reddy, Executive Engineer of R&B department Lingaiah and ZP Chief Executive Officer Marapaka Nagesh were present along with others.
