Kothagudem: District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu called upon the officers to strive for a healthy society. A task force meeting was presided over by the District Collector at the Collectorate here on Monday.

He said the government would prepare a plan to go for massive vaccination for children. He said children in the age group of nine months and below 15 years are eligible for administering vaccine.

As many as 3.72 lakh children in Bhadradri-Kothagudem district were vaccinated from August 17 to September 15 last year, the Collector recalled.

He said the officers would give massive publicity for this event and added that mobile teams would conduct awareness camps for administering vaccine in the Agency areas. Special teams would be arranged for giving vaccines in temple areas, bus stands, brick kiln areas and in Agency areas.

The Collector told the officers to work in tandem and achieve success in the vaccination programme.District Medical and Health Officer Dr Dayananda Swamy, Programme Officer Dr Venkateswara Rao, Hospitals Coordination Officer Dr Janardhan, DLPO Asha Latha and others health officers attended this programme.
