Anneparthi: Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University Professor Altaf Hussain informed that attendance rule would be strictly implemented this year. Speaking to media at his chambers on Tuesday, he said it was mandatory to attend internal exams to appear for semester exams.

He informed that classes in university and its affiliated colleges were started from June 12. He suggested that students should have a minimum of 70 per cent attendance and those students would only be permitted to take internal exams.

He warned that students who skip internal exams would not be allowed to take semester exams. The V-C further directed the managements of private colleges to submit attendance or biometric sheets of both faculty and students to the Controller of Examinations every month regularly.

Stating the process of scholarships and tuition fee reimbursement by the state government would be done through online system, he advised both UG and PG private college managements to appoint principals and faculty to the colleges by June 20.
