Warangal: An aged beneficiary of Aasara pension scheme at Kannur village in Kamalapur mandal in the district has been deleted from the list of beneficiaries, while he is still alive.

Though it is a mistake or intentional act by the concerned staff at Kannur, the beneficiary, called K Saraiah claimed that he has been deprived of his pension since two years. More than that he expressed anguish at being declared dead by government officials.

In a copy of his profile taken from Aasara pensions’ website, it is indicated in remarks section that the beneficiary’s name has been deleted by the MPDO and the reason is ‘death’. “For the past several months I have been making appeals to officials at different levels but in vain,” he said.

He said he was sanctioned old age pension in December 2014 during Congress regime. After Telangana State formation, he received pension for few months and then he was denied pension by the officials as they declared him dead.

Saraiah informed that he submitted petitions to Karimnagar district collector several times before districts reorganisation, but nothing happened. He on Monday visited Hanamkonda and submitted a petition to the District Collector Amrapali K during the grievance cell meeting.

Though he submitted his petition to the grievance cell, the pensioner was doubtful that the officials here will act and get the mistake rectified.
