Hanamkonda: In a joint raid conducted by agriculture department and vigilance and enforcement officials, paddy seeds worth Rs 3.08 crore have been seized.

The seeds were found stocked at a warehouse owned by Sumanjali Seeds and Farms located at Hunter Road area in Hanamkonda on Tuesday.

The officials informed the presspersons the seeds stored at the warehouse do not have supporting documents. Similarly, raids were conducted by the officials on several seeds processing units in the city on the day.

A senior official of the agriculture department said that the raids were conducted in Khammam and Warangal since Monday to curb the menace of fake seeds.
