Speaking to The Hans India, CITU Singareni state secretary M Narasimha Rao sounded optimistic when he said the trade unions would achieve jobs to dependents making the strike successful. He predicted that the strike would be successful 100 per cent in Bellampalli, Ramagundam and Bhupalapalli districts.

As 80 per cent of the coal miners would take part in the strike, coal production in Kothagudem underground mining would come to a standstill.

He charged the management with planning to foil the strike by continuing the night duty workers, deploy police force and distribute pamphlets against the strike and run series of campaigns against the strike using services of the recognised trade union.

He alleged that the SCCL management ignored the high court verdict on dependent jobs and stopped taking alternative steps. He called upon the work force to take part in the strike to get jobs for their dependents.

INTUC leader Janak Prasad said the strike became inevitable as talks held with the management did not reach ahead in spite of holding four rounds of negotiations.

He breathed fire on the recognised trade union blaming it for trying to defraud the coal miners. The striking workers would resist the attempts to foil the strike using the police force.

He made it clear that 80 per cent of workers would observe strike as only a meager 10 per cent are members of the recognised trade union.
