Kothagudem: Announcing that 13 per cent more production and transport of coal took place on the first day of the strike on Thursday, the Singareni management in a statement here on Friday said that there was hardly any impact of the strike on coal production.

The management released the photographs of mining being carried out by workers at the Ramagundam-02 opencast mines. The statement said that the general production of coal on an average per day was 1,52,186 tonnes whereas on the first day, 1,72,261 tonnes of coal was produced which proved it was more than the average.

Likewise, the average transportation of coal was 1,64,000 tonnes per day where on the first day 1,85,000 tonnes of coal was transported.

The statement said that on an average daily, 8 to 9 railway wagons of coal is transported to Telangana Genco and on the first day the transportation has gone up to 15 wagons.

The management declared that coal would be transported to all the thermal stations throughout the State for the continuous power generation without any interruption.

It said that on the first day, 31,000 tonnes of coal was transported to Ramagundam Thermal Power Station as against the daily transport of 24,000 tonnes.

The press statement said that the workers were recognising the futility of the strike and hence are resuming to the duty.

On the second day, 12 per cent more employees joined the duty, it said. The management appealed to the rest of the workers to resume work immediately.
