Hanamkonda: It’s unfortunate to ignore the issues faced by the Singareni miners, who contribute a substantial income to State’s exchequer, Telugu Desam State general secretary and former MLA Sitakka said, accusing the TRS government for its failure to implement dependent employment scheme.

She said that though the TRS promised to revive dependent employment scheme during the separate State movement and ahead of 2014 elections, the government lacks commitment. “The ruling party is trying to counter attack the Opposition to cover up its failures,” Sitakka said, accusing the government of protecting the real culprits in Miyapur land scam.

TRS Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao (KK), who argued that his family legally acquired land in Miyapur, was quick to retreat and says that he is ready to cancel the sale deed of his land, she said, demanding the government to order CBI inquiry into the land scam.

Referring to MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao’s comments made against her party in Khammam on Thursday, Sitakka advised him not to forget the roots of the NT Rama Rao’s TDP that gave political life to his father and TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao. Further she said that it’s not possible for the TRS or to any other party to make TDP non-existent in Telangana.

Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district party president Gandra Satyanarayana Rao said: “Why not the Central government that brought agriculture related assets under the ambit of Goods and Service Tax (GST) think about the problems faced by the farming community.

Even though the farmers were facing a crisis, the government failed to find a solution to provide minimum support price (MSP) to various crops.”

If the government announces MSP well ahead of agriculture season, farmers will choose themselves for which crop they should go, he said.
