Mahbubnagar: The Badi Bata programme initiated by school teachers of Marikal Zilla Parishad High School is receiving good response from the parents and students as well.

As the academic year has commenced from June 12, teachers of ZPHS, Marikal have embarked on a 4-day Badi Bata campaign from June 13 to 17 to attract students and convince parents to send their children to government schools.

The teachers have been campaigning in Eligendla, Madarma, Paspula and Telair villages. “As part of the Badi Bata programme, we are taking out rallies in all the surrounding villages and convincing both parents and children to prefer government schools over the private.

The government is providing free books, uniform and mid-day meals to the students. We have got a very good response from the villagers as they have all given their consent to send their children to government schools,” said Balalingaiah, a senior teacher leading the Badi Bata campaign.

Unlike earlier, the government schools have brought in a lot of changes. Not just providing free books, uniform and mid-day meals, the government is also providing best quality education to the students.

Earlier most of the parents were attracted to English medium schools and were sending their children to private institutions, however now the government has also introduced English medium schools and ensuring that government school students also excel on par with the private schools.

ZPHS Marikal Headmaster Madhusudhan Reddy also participated in the programme.
