All roads lead to Bhutan this August as the 8th edition of the Mountain Echoes Literary Festival– an initiative of India-Bhutan Foundation, in association with India’s leading literary consultancy, Siyahi, is announced.

Presented by the Jaypee Group and powered by the Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan, the distinctive literary, arts and cultural festival will be held from August 25 – 27, with a special inaugural ceremony on August 24 in Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan.

Headline names set to appear at the festival this year include Markus Zusak, an Australian author known for his international best-sellers such as ‘The Book Thief’; Francesca Beard, a London-based writer and performance poet who is appreciated around the world; American television host and author Padma Lakshmi and India’s national treasure, author Ashwin Sanghi.

Other well-known authors set to attend the 2017 edition of the festival include Prayaag Akbar, award winning journalist and author ofthe bestselling book Leila;leading mythologist Devdutt Pattanaik, SahityaAkademi Award winnerJerry Pintoand SharanyaManivannan, author of the critically acclaimedThe High Priestess Never Marries: Stories of Love and Consequence among others.
