The Telangana Shepherds Association has demanded the government to observe the death anniversary of Doddi Komuraiah officially on July 4, who sacrificed his life participating in the Telangana Sayuda Poratam. State president of the Association Udutha Ravinder and advocate Mekala Suguna Rao took part in the round-table conference held at Yadav Sangham in Khammam on Monday.

​Khammam: The Telangana Shepherds Association has demanded the government to observe the death anniversary of Doddi Komuraiah officially on July 4, who sacrificed his life participating in the Telangana Sayuda Poratam. State president of the Association Udutha Ravinder and advocate Mekala Suguna Rao took part in the round-table conference held at Yadav Sangham in Khammam on Monday.

Addressing the members of the Association, Suguna Rao said Doddi Komuraiah sacrificed his life for the sake of Telangana and inspired many others to participate in the movement in later stages. “It is the responsibility of the government to observe his birth and death anniversaries akin to Prof Jayashankar, Kaloji Narayana Rao and PV Narasimha Rao officially,” he said.

He also demanded inclusion of chapters on Chakali Ilamma and Bandhagi, who actively participated in the Telangana Sayuda Poratam, in school syllabi apart from installing their statues on Tank bund.

Representatives of the Association Bari Malsur, Mekala Nageshwar Rao, Likki Krishna Rao, Battu Sharabandhi, MD of Dharani Project Battu Jayramesh, Bammidi Srinivas, Chilakala Venkateshwarlu, Veerla Koti, Chintala Chervu Koteshwar Rao, Megada Rama Rao, Thotti Venkanna, Perugu Venkata Ramana and Palleboina Chandram attended the meeting.
