Karimnagar: Democratic Student Union (DSU) district in-charge Janardhan demanded the government provide all basic facilities in government schools.

As part of the survey of government schools, DSU representatives visited the government school at Ramnagar (Kummariwada) here on Monday and enquired the students about the problems they have been facing.

Speaking on the occasion, Janardhan alleged that the government has failed in providing basic facilities required for the students due to which many students are not showing interest to get admission in government schools.

The government was more interested to close the schools, which have minimum strength, but neglecting to provide basic facilities in schools, which have good strength, he criticised.

Many of the government schools lack proper toilets, drinking water facilities and fans and electricity causing untold problems to students, he alleged.

There is a need to set up computer labs along with libraries and kitchen sheds in many government schools present across the district. Also the officials concerned should distribute books and school uniforms to the students in time, he observed.

DSU district unit representatives Saikrishna, Uday, Srikanth, Raju, Suresh, Ramya, Rekha, Mounika and Rani were present along with others.
