He, along with MLC Bhanu Prasad Rao and MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy, had inaugurated Olympic and 3K Run from Kaman chowrastha to the Collectorate here on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the in-charge Collector advised the students and youth to participate in sports and games actively.
In the present world of technology, many school children and youth became addicted to electronic gadgets and forgot to play outdoor games by spending hours together with their smart mobiles. Sports and games not only give mental relief but also help to keep the body fit along with improving body immune system, he advised.
MLC Bhanu Prasad Rao, MLA Dasari Manohar Reddy and Assistant Commissioner of Police Sindhu Sharma presented prizes and shields to students, who won in 3K Run. DCP Vijayendar Reddy, City Municipal Chairman L Rajaiah and District Youth and Convenor of Olympic Association M Ranjith Kumar were present along with others.
