Karimnagar: Bangaru Telangana is possible only by strengthening the professions of different communities and the people, observed Finance Minister Eatala Rajender.

He, as the chief guest distributed sheep units to the beneficiaries at sheep distribution programme under the government’s Sheep Rearing Scheme at Venkatraopally village of Huzurabad mandal in the district on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that separate Telangana State was achieved after several sacrifices and to fulfil the long lasting dreams of people of Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been introducing several welfare schemes.

The earlier governments that ruled the State for the past 57 years have neglected people’s requests and applications to uplift them and never heard their pleadings. But now after the TRS government came to power, the people were happy at the perfect implementation of several welfare schemes for their betterment, said the Minister.

Rajender said people used to suffer due to lack of proper power supply but the TRS government was supplying 24 hours of uninterrupted power along with giving pension of Rs 1,000 to aged, lonely women and beedi workers. The government introduced Sheep Rearing Scheme to uplift the shepherd community present across the State.

The sheep units will be distributed to the beneficiaries irrespective of political pressures. The beneficiaries must grow the fodder required for the sheep in open places after seeking official permission, he advised.

The beneficiaries must rear the sheep properly with great care and should not sell them before they would grow to full size, the Minister suggested. District Collector Sarfaraz Ahmed said that about 26,000 members applied for sheep units in the district, which will be distributed to all of them in two years.

At present about 40.6 lakhs of sheep are available in the district for distribution. In the coming years as many as 5.5 lakhs will be distributed to remaining beneficiaries, he informed.
