Dues will be paid to farmers within three days: Jagtial Collector

​Jagtial: District Collector Dr A Sharath informed that 100 per cent payments will be made to the farmers for the food grains purchased from them in Rabi within two or three days.

He chaired a review meeting with the officials on payments to be made for the food grains purchased from the farmers in Rabi, at the Collectorate here on Tuesday.

The Collector said about 394 metric tons of food grains worth Rs 594 crores were purchased from 73,617 farmers in Rabi. Out of which, Rs 548 crores were paid to 70,247 farmers till date and necessary steps were taken to pay the remaining amount to 3,370 farmers within two or three days, thus completing 100 per cent of payments, assured the Collector.

He ordered the officials concerned to conduct a special meeting and take necessary steps for uploading the details of the farmers from the society centres and food grains purchased from them as early as possible to complete payments.

Joint Collector Dr A Nagendra, Metpally Sub-Collector Mushraff Farooq Ali, Divisional Manager of Civil Supply Department Jagadish Kumar and Venkata Subbaiah were present along with others.
