Officials told to speed up check dam works on Munneru Vagu

After inspecting works of a check dam on Munneru Vagu, at a cost of Rs 90 lakh, at Junbad Thanda of Raghunathapalem in Khammam on Tuesday, Tummala expressed his dissatisfaction over the half-completed works and ordered the officials to wrap up works as soon as possible.
“Once the construction of check dam on Munneru Vagu is completed, water will be supplied to about 500 acres of land for irrigation in surrounding villages of Raghunathapalem mandal,” informed the Minister, ordering the officials to prepare a design for construction of another check dam on Munneru Vagu to retain the water year long.
Later, the Minister inspected the Chinthalapally Lake and ordered the officials to beautify it. Zilla Parishad Chairperson Gadepally Kavitha, MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana, DCCB Chairman Muvva Vijay Babu, Executive Engineer of Irrigation department Narasimha Rao, Divisional Engineer Arjun, Khammam Rural Development Officer Purnachander Rao and Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Marapaka Nagesh were present along with others.
