International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the erstwhile Warangal district where political leaders, government officials, elected representatives, students and common public have taken part enthusiastically.

Hanamkonda: International Day of Yoga has been celebrated across the erstwhile Warangal district where political leaders, government officials, elected representatives, students and common public have taken part enthusiastically.

Marking the day, a programme was jointly organised by Kapil House and Bharat Swabhiman Trust in Hanamkonda on Wednesday. The programme inaugurated by MLA D Vinay Bhasker and attended by Kapil Group president U Krishnamohan, executive director M Satyanarayana Rao, AGM N Ramchander, RM B Bhasker and others.

Speaking on the occasion, the MLA has promised to ensure construction of a meditation-cum-yoga centre on 1000 square yards land in the city. The matter would be taken to the notice of the Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, seeking to allocate the land.

“There are several yoga masters and spiritualists in the city. It is my desire to develop Warangal city as a spiritual centre in the State for the benefit of future generations,” Vinay Bhasker stated.

Addressing the gathering, Kapil Group president Krishnamohan asserted that with the practice of yoga daily, one could prevent diseases and need not visit hospitals at all. In view of the stressful life in modern times, everyone should practice yoga to beat the stress and to lead a healthy life, he said.

With the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘International Day of Yoga’ has been celebrated in hundreds of nations in the world and across India. Yoga has been a valuable gift to the world given by India, he pointed out.

Nearly 200 men and women attended the yoga camp held under the guidance of yoga master G Jitender.
Similar programme was organised by department of AYUSH, Ananta Laksmi Government Ayurvedic College and Government Ayurveda Hospital at JNS Indoor stadium. Mayor N Narender and others attended the event.

Yoga training camps were also held at Kakatiya University, KITS Warangal, Vaagdevi Engineering College, Pingle Government Women’s Degree College and others on the day.
