Opposition leaders, SCCL employees stage dharna
Several opposition parties and employee associations under the aegis of Joint Action Committee staged a dharna in front of the SCCL GM’s office here on Thursday, demanding the implementation of hereditary employment scheme.

Speaking on the occasion, CPI state assistant secretary Kunamaneni Sambashiva Rao criticised the SCCL management and the government for not showing any compassion for the employees who have been on strike for the past eight days.
“The management is forcing the employees to work with the help of police patrolling. Arrests and other repressive tactics will not pay,” he added. He demanded withdrawal of cases filed against those involved in the strike.
Later, a memorandum containing their demands was submitted to SCCL General Manager Ramana Murthy.
CPI state secretary Sk Shabbir Pasha, opposition leaders and employee union members M Narasimha Rao, D Seshaiah, G Satyanarayana, V Venkat, Y Srinivas Reddy and several others took part in the dharna.
