Bhadrachalam: With three consecutive holidays, a huge turnout of devotees was seen in Bhadrachalam on Monday. More than 150 couples participated in the Nitya Kalyanam ritual on the temple premises and performed special pujas.

However, many of the devotees especially those from far off places faced severe inconvenience due to delay in darshan and inadequate accommodation facilities. Several private lodges allegedly charged above the prescribed rates by taking advantage of the situation.

Parnasala also witnessed sudden increase in the number of pilgrims. The boat operators at Pochavaram, VR Puram mandal in East Godavari had a roaring business with a large number of tourists visiting the Papikondalu.

Speaking to The Hans India, Temple Executive Officer Prabhakar Srinivas said nearly 50,000 devotees paid visit to the temple in the last two days. Stating that the temple has collected Rs 13 Lakh on Sunday, he informed that the temple has received Rs 1.5 lakh towards Annadhanam scheme.

Special puja
Meanwhile, a special puja with paddy seeds was performed by Sri Krishan Seva Samithi on Monday. Every year, the Samithi makes Gotti Thalambralu for the celestial wedding that takes place on the day of Sri Rama Navami. Samithi member Krishna, addressing the media persons, said, “We cultivate these paddy seeds. The produce from these seeds will be used in making Thalambralu.”
