Festive spirit gripped the tri-cities of Warangal-Hanamkonda-Kazipet and all across the erstwhile Warangal district on Monday with thousands of Muslims offering special prayers at Mosques and Eidgahs celebrating ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’.
Eid-ul-Fitr celebrated with religious fervor
Warangal: Festive spirit gripped the tri-cities of Warangal-Hanamkonda-Kazipet and all across the erstwhile Warangal district on Monday with thousands of Muslims offering special prayers at Mosques and Eidgahs celebrating ‘Eid-ul-Fitr’.
Devotees thronged Kazipet Dargah, Subedari Choti Masjid, Iwanshahi Masjid, Lashkar Eidgah, Eidgah-e- Hussaini, Fort Warangal Eidgah, Bokkalagadda Eidgah, Mattewada Eidgah and others to offer the prayers in Warangal city.
Ulemas in their sermons highlighted the significance and philosophy of Eid-ul-Fitr, celebrated at the end of holy month of Ramzan, the ninth month of the Islamic almanac during which the Muslims observe a stringent dawn-to-dusk fast.
According to the Islamic scholars, it was in the month of Ramzan (also called as Ramadan) Holy Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad and hence it holds a great importance in Islamic faith.
Clad in white and displaying religious piety the Muslims offered special congregational prayers, exchanged greetings and gifts with warm embraces and took part in feasts with friends and family marking the occasion.
MP P Dayakar, MLAs K Surekha and D Vinay Bhasker, GWMC Mayor N Narender and Deputy Mayor Khaja Sirajuddin, Commissioner of Police G Sudheer Babu, TRS district minority cell president Md Nayeemuddin, GWMC councillor B Dinna and others took part in the Eid-ul-Fitr prayers.
Addressing the gathering, Mayor Narender and MLA Vinay Bhasker have extended Eid-ul-fitr greetings to the community members and said it would bring new hopes into the lives of Muslims.
The Chief Minister, K Chandrashekar Rao, was committed for the welfare of the Muslims and has been introducing various welfare measures. Laying focus on the education of community, the government started several minority residential schools and colleges in the State, said Vinay Bhasker.
MLA Surekha explained the welfare measures being taken up by the CM for the welfare of the Muslims and said a Shadikhana would soon be built in Warangal East assembly constituency with an expenditure of Rs 5 crore.
At Bhupalpalli, Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, TDP leader Gandra Satyanarayana Rao and others joined Muslims in their special prayers and greeted them.
In Warangal Commissionerate police district administrations of Jangaon, Bhupalpalli, Mahabubabad and Warangal urban and rural districts have made special arrangements at all Masjids and Eidgahs.
