​Warangal Urban: Six passengers onboard the Yeswanthpur-Lucknow Express (T No: 22683) were looted by unidentified persons who made the passengers unconscious after offering them cold drinks mixed with sedatives.

They victims were identified as Indrajith, Sanjay and Ranya Dube of Allahabad, Sushil Jashwal of Gorakhpur, Rajnarayan of Jagdeshpur in Uttar Pradesh and Mahesh Savat of Grampet in Madhya Pradesh.

According to police, the victims boarded the train bound for Lucknow at Yeswanthpur in Bengaluru on the wee hours of Monday.

Onboard, two passengers introduced themselves to the passengers and engaged them in a conversation. During the course of their conversation, the miscreants offered cold drinks allegedly mixed with sedatives to the victims making them unconscious. It was said that when the passengers were asleep, the miscreants stole the cash and got off the train.

On early hours of Tuesday, other passengers, after seeing the victims in comatose state, alerted the police when the train reached Kazipet railway station.

Government Railway Circle Inspector of Police Venkateshwarlu, Sub-Inspector Dayakar and RPF Circle Inspector of Police Veeranna rushed to the station and took the victims to the Mahatma Gandhi Medical Hospital in Warangal for treatment.

According to doctors, their condition was said to be stable.Speaking to media, the CI Venkateshwarlu said all the victims were painters working in Bengaluru and were going home. In all, they have lost an amount of Rs 27, 000. A case was booked at the GRP station in this connection.
