Warangal Urban: The district TRS leaders lashed out at Congress leader G Venkata Ramana Reddy and described him as an anti-social element. They condemned his remarks made against Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary.

Speaking to the media in Hanumakonda here on Tuesday, district TRS president T Ravinder Rao said that the Congress leader who was involved in several shady deals has no moral right to criticise the Speaker, who has an unblemished track record.

The TRS leader alleged that Ramana Reddy, while he was MLA of Bhupalpalli in the past, was involved in illegal sand mining, timber smuggling, land grabbing and amassed huge wealth.

“We have all the information regarding his illegal businesses and would bring out them at an appropriate time” he warned.

Now, he was spending the ill-gotten money to engage his followers to spread panic in the villages of the Bhupalpalli Assembly segment. The villagers in the constituency should not allow either the Congress leader or his followers to enter into the villages as they were thwarting the development, Rao warned.

Referring to the reported comments by the Speaker who recently said that he would conduct post-mortem of the opposition leaders, Ravinder Rao explained that the word ‘post-mortem’ was used to discuss about the development that took place under the Congress regime and what the TRS government did in the past three years.

‘No one will use the word post-mortem to threaten a person. Ramana Reddy has intentionally twisted the comments by the Speaker to malign his image among the public.

Rao said that several initiatives for development were taken in Bhupalpalli constituency during the past three years. Roads worth Rs 100 crores were laid, electricity sub-stations worth Rs 100 crore were set a up and the 30-bedded hospital was upgraded to 100-beds. A state of the art road from Chelpur to Bhupalpalli was constructed with central lighting, he added.

Ramana Reddy was totally frustrated after his defeat in the last Assembly elections and now he was extremely worried over his winning chances in the next elections by looking at the developmental activities taking place in the constituency, the TRS leader noted.

The Congress leader should respect the position of the Speaker and refrain from indulging in baseless criticism, he suggested. Otherwise, the people in the constituency would revolt against him and his followers, he warmed.
