Wean away children from drug abuse
On the occasion of World Anti-Drugs Day, Manovignana Vedika conducted an awareness camp in the city on Tuesday.Addressing the gathering, noted psychiatrist Dr B Keshavulu, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that the youth were cultivating bad habits like taking drugs, smoking and  consuming alcohol, thereby  involving themselves in anti-social activities. Addressing the gathering, noted psychiatrist Dr B Keshavulu, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said that the youth were cultivating bad habits like taking drugs, smoking and consuming alcohol, thereby involving themselves in anti-social activities.
He said that drug addiction leads to many fatal diseases like lung cancer, cirrhosis of liver, gastric problems, indigestion, accumulation of stones in kidneys and also decreases the fertility rate.
He blamed the parents for giving complete freedom to their children and neglecting them. Parents should be held responsible for ruining the lives of their children, he added.
Activists of Manovignana Vedika like Kavya, Ashok, Tajakamroddin, Ravali, Anjali, Swarupa and hospital staff attended the programme.
