Karimnagar: Ashada month is known for donations and holy baths through which, people would prosper, said Alphores Educational Institutions Chairman V Narender Reddy.

He inaugurated Bonalu festival by lighting a traditional lamp at Alphores E-Techno School here on Friday. Narender Reddy performed special pujas on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Bonam has special place in Telangana and is playing main role in protecting our culture.

The Chairman said that devotees would offer Bonalu to the goddess in the holy month of Ashadam. He praised Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao for declaring Bonalu as State festival and allocating funds to celebrate it in a grand manner. In all 150 girl students carried Bonalu on their head for offering it to the goddess.

The students performed dances on the occasion. The School Principal, teaching staff and students participated in the programme.
