A senior professor, K Purushotham of department of English has been appointed as the Registrar of Kakatiya University for a period of one year.
​Warangal: A senior professor, K Purushotham of department of English has been appointed as the Registrar of Kakatiya University for a period of one year.
Having 26 years of teaching experience, he is now serving as the Dean, faculty of Arts. He took charge from the outgoing Registrar Prof MV Ranga Rao, who attained superannuation from the services on Friday.
Prof Purushotham has published 79 research articles and 11 books. His publications include Oxford India Anthology of Telugu Dalit Writing, English for Fluency, English for Employability, Black Lilies: An Anthology of Telugu Dalit Poetry (Critical Quest) and Interrogating the Canon: Literature and Pedagogy.
Known for his translation skills, the professor translated as many as 202 poems, fiction, nonfiction works into Telugu. The course material he developed has been prescribed in Emory University, USA, Tamil Nadu Central University, Kakatiya and Satavahana Universities.
He served Kakatiya University in various administrative positions such as head, chairman of BoS of English department, vice principal of University College, director of Centre for English Language Training (CELT) and others.
Prof Purushotham worked as a resource person for orientation and refresher courses for college teachers at Academic Staff Colleges in Central University of Hyderabad, EFL University, Osmania University, MAANU and others. The staff, faculty and research scholars congratulated him on the occasion.
