Baby Suit: A baby suit with sensors which will help parents in monitoring the health of a baby right from the home, My Farm: Monitors the soil and helps in optimal water management and helps in improving the yield and many more attension grabbing prototypes were showcased at EXCITE 2017 platform by engineering students.

And these ideas were shaped at EXCITE 2017 by the experts present from various industries. EXCITE 2017 was a five week summer workshop/internship program aimed at engineering students building a tech product startup was successfully conducted at JNTUH campus recently.

Students from 26 colleges participated in this workshop, building 70 product prototypes.

The program had the students understand product engineering, innovation, startup products and entrepreneurship. A key objective of EXCITE program was to get an industry intervention to build appreciation for products and product engineering, and thus improve the quality of engineering graduates across the state by motivating them to explore new technologies.

BVR Mohan Reddy, Chairman CYIENT, was the chief guest at the valedictory. Speaking to the students, said “ The students today are uniquely positioned with the technology at its best phase and have to utilize this opportunity to its fullest.

Appreciating the efforts made by the students in making good product development experience Shri. BVR Mohan Reddy has motivated the students to raise to the innovation and entrepreneurship expectations of the hour and meet the societal needs.

He has further motivated the students to dream big and build on their ideas. He has compliment the Vice-Chancellor for launching the University wide Innovation Research and Development initiative” EXCITE 2017 had a participation of 9 students from each of the 26 colleges. During these five weeks, 70 product prototypes in Internet of Things(IoT) and allied technologies have been successfully created by students.

The programme, over the last three years, has ignited change in college campuses with students participating in several hackathons. The placement record of the students of Excite-2016 batch has also been encouraging.
