Kothagudem: District Collector Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu has said that it has been targetting to plant at least 1.6 crore saplings during the Harita Haram program, commencing from July 12. He exhorted the officials to take part in the programme and make it a grand success.

He took part in the Grievance Day held at Collectorate on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he informed that saplings were being grown in various nurseries and also places have been identified for the plantation of saplings.

He maintained that protecting the saplings after planting them was very important. He hoisted a green flag kicking off a Kala Jata to sensitise people on the importance of the Harita Haram.

Earlier, he received representations from people as part of the Grievance Day. Officers receiving representations from people should clear them on time, he said.

Joint Collector M Ramkishan, District Revenu Officer Kiran Kumar, DRDA Project Director P Jagath Kumar Reddy, DFO Rambabu and other offricers were present on the occasion.
