Khammam: The All India Students Federation has demanded the government to take stringent action against the education institutions running by violating the rules.

The representatives of AISF led by Federation’s district secretary staged a dharna here in front of the office of the District Education Officer in Khammam on Monday, demanding the government to crack down on private educational institutions that were running by violating rules.

Addressing the representatives, J Ranjith Kumar alleged that the government was behaving negligently in providing basic facilities in government junior colleges and was encouraging the private educational institutions by not taking any actions against them which were collecting high fee from students.

“Many posts are lying vacant in government junior colleges. Instead of filling the posts permanently, the government is appointing the lecturers on part-time and contractual basis.

Many colleges are functioning without libraries and laboratories. The government promised to introduce mid-day meals scheme in junior colleges, but even after completion of one year the government did not implement it in any college,” he criticised.

He further alleged that some of the private colleges were running many branches like IIT, Medical and academic courses under one name violating the rules and were collecting huge fee from the students and were not providing any basic facilities in the colleges, he alleged.

He demanded the government to take necessary steps for filling the vacant posts permanently. AISF representatives Etikala Rama Krishna, Potlapalli Gopi, Premchand, Srinu, Lingaiah, Vanitha, Naga Lakshmi, Shravani, Padma and Lalitha were present along with others.
