Farmers stage dharna for crop loans

​Luxettipet: The farmers staged a dharna here on Monday demanding crop loans and removal of cap over cash payments made to them.

It may be recalled that they have been waiting outside the bank for the last two days since 5 am for the release of loans and money withdrawal from their accounts to start agricultural activities.

The farmers expressed anger over the bankers’ attitude despite the government order that the banks should provide loans to them.

Local SI Sammaiah tried to pacify the agitators. The farmers withdrew their dharna only when the Bank Manager came to the spot and agreed to resolve the issue.
