Warangal: The Civil Societies JAC has alleged that poor quality material being used in the construction of double bedroom houses under Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation.

The JAC state convener Tirunahari Sheshu, Vidyarthi Satta leader Thota Pavan, BC-JAC district president T Purnender, Forum for Better Warangal leader P Sudhakar and others have inspected ongoing constructions in the city on Wednesday.

They visited the houses at SR Nagar and Ambedkar Nagar in the city. Speaking to media, Sheshu complained that the government and the contractors executing the works have been acting in negligent manner.

He said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had in the past ridiculed Indiramma houses built by Congress government saying that they have small rooms and not fit for living. But the much-hyped 2BHK houses with small rooms were also going to be like Indiramma houses.

The government has set the target of constructing one lakh houses in each year. But at the end of its five years term, the government could not construct even 50,000 houses given the pace of the works, the JAC leader noted.
