“When your goal is fixed then there is nothing that can stop you” says a young 15-year-old lad B V S Krishnakanth, who has just completed his schooling with flying colors and scored 10/10 percentile from DAV Public School, Safilguda, Hyderabad. Unlike other kids, his schooling wasn’t just a cake walk.

The tough tides that he had to sail for success are finally leading him in the right direction that he always planned for. He is one among the few who could crack cent percentile in his tenth board exams.

Krishnakanth, suffered a tragic incident when he was 11 years old. It was during his summer vacation as was completely indulged in the idea of fun with family and friends. An unfortunate day where the nature has decided a heavydownpour of rain that uprooted many trees in the area where Krishnakanth was residing, in a playful mood and unaware of the broken electric wires in his balcony he had accidentally touched it which costed him his right hand.

It was a tough time for his parents to handle the situation and tell the truth about the hand to their son. Who has always aspired to join Indian national cricket team.Soon he got to know about his situation, not just broke his heart but also his spirit.

Without losing hope and with constant support from family he started to practice writing with his left hand while he was still in the hospital.“We were surprised to see our son accepting the truth and moving ahead so soon.

We had to constantly push him and support him that he is no less to anyone. We had to remind his strengths and make him stronger with every passing day. Just within a span of three months he turned perfect with his left hand. But the situation which has happened left a nasty mark in his memory” says his father, Parameshwar Rao.

Asking him about his cent percent marks in his tenth standard; Krishnakanth says “I use to spend almost six to seven hours a day during exams. I wanted to top the school. I wanted to thank my school and teachers who have supported me in every possible way and scoring cent percent marks seemed a right way”, adds Krishnakanth.

And yes he stood as the best as he aspired to, says Ex Principal of DAV School Seeta Kiran. “It is rare to find students like Krishnakanth who are so dedicated to achieve something. I am happy that he is my student and I wish to see him grow and become successful in his future” she adds.

Sharing his future plans he adds, “I wanted to become a Chatter Accountant, because am good with Mathematics and Economics. My family is full of engineers and doctors so I want to stand unique. Coming to my love towards cricket, am never going to leave that”.

“His only target was success and nothing else could distract him. We are extremely proud of our son and we are happy to see his efforts turning fruitful” share Krishnakanth’s parents.
