Officials told to expedite Mission Bhagiratha works: Mahabubabad Collector

​Mahabubabad: District Collector Dr Preethi Meena ordered the officials of engineering department to take steps for completing Mission Bhagiratha works within the prescribed time limit. Mission Bhagiratha Chief Engineer Vijaypal Reddy visited Mahabubabad district and met the Collector at her chambers here on Wednesday. He discussed the progress of Mission Bhagirath works with the Collector.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector informed that the officials of concerned department were doing the pipe laying works under the Mission at a very slow pace and asked the Chief Engineer to supply the required material on time for completion of works within time.

The Pump house works and the construction of Palair Segment Bridge also not completed till date. Stating that the National Highway crossing works are going on at a snail’s pace, the Collector suggested the works could be completed within the time limit by deploying more number of gangmen. Chief Engineer Vijaypal Reddy said that orders are given for pump house sets and they will be supplied by the end of August.

There are seven agency mandals and about 1,800 thandas in the Mahabubabad district. There is need to construction about 1,164 OHSR in all the seven agency mandals but till date only the works of 67 were taken up. Take necessary steps for completing the remaining OHSR also, the Collector ordered the officials.

All the works under Mission Bhagiratha will be completed by the end of December 2017, assured the Chief Engineer. Mission Bhagiratha Superintending Engineer Yesu Rathnam, Executive Engineer Ramulu and R&B department Executive Engineer Ravi Prasad and Divisional Engineers were present along with Assistant Engineers.
